The Frontera Fund was founded by Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin. The two journalists spend a substantial part of their career fighting for their rights.

They acquired the money to start the organization from the sheriff’s case. The groups aim to ensure that the residents enjoy the freedom of expression. They also advocate for human, civil and migrant rights.
